Day 5 17 day diet

Hurray the weekend is here. Ralph and I slept in late and each had 3 over easy eggs and a container of yogart for breaksfast. Green tea pill, water pill, and WATER WATER WATER....

I should also mention that we both take a multi vitamin as well.

Today was "DATE" day, so we were hesitant of how we were going to enjoy our dinner and a movie with all of the temptations out there.

2:00 movie-- Instead of each having a popcorn and a pop or sharing a large pop corn. We bought 1 small buttered popcorn and a medium diet pepsi.

It needs to be said, that I absolutely hate diet pop. I am a mountain due, pepsi coke girl, and I HATE diet. Truthfully I would rather drink water than diet pop. Giving up pop alone I think will drastically help me. I have done it before, and I can do it again. :)

So after the movie we went to the rice and spice "chinese buffet" We each had lots of chicken and vegatables. It was truthfully so satisfying. I really cant wait to go again. yum

Snack- we had a piece of pie. It is gone now so no temptations for Sunday. :)Not to forget out fish oil pill for the day!

I think God was watching out for me too, because I can't leave Williston without a frappachino drink. We hurried across town at 5:45 and needless to say they were already closed. Supposed to be open till 6:00. :)No drink for me.

I bought these turkey jerkey bites at walmart. They wern't bad. Maybe try them as a snack sometime.

We had a sugar free chocolate before bed, so no promise message. :)

Day 4 of 17 day diet

Breakfast
Bethany brought me breakfast in bed, so no eggs today. :) Bowl of corn chex, 1 banana and milk. Green tea pill, water pill, and probiotic.

LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER

Lunch
Grilled chicken salad from Jenny's cafe
All it was was a grilled chicken breast, lettuce, and tomatoes. I had french dressing on it, as they didn't have anything fat free.

Fish oil pill

Snack: Fiber bar and a glass of milk

Supper- I made this Sun dried tomatoe chicken over vegtables. It was amazing and very very filling.

Tonight, I tried my hardest to come up with a way to enjoy one of my pies. For those of you who know me well, i am the queen of french silk pies, and peanut butter pies. For a while there i was making at least 1 a week. I know sounds obsessive, but man they are so good. Both Ralph and I were in withdrawl, so I gave it a whirl on trying to make one as sugar and carb free as I could.

First off my original peanut butter silk pie has 1 cup of sugar. I substituted that with one cup of sugar free splenda. Much to my surprise it was amazing. Couldn't tell. Second, instead of using a crust, I just poored the inside mixture into a pie pan. The "guts" of the pie were still awsome, so we didn't miss the crust. The reciepe calls for a bag of peanut butter chips. I looked and searched, and there just wasn't a sugar free peanut butter chip. Considered using real peanut butter, but that was very comparable, so I put the chips in. I guess along side the peanut butter chips, the only other down fall was that it has 2 sticks of butter. If anybody knows of a butter subsitute that taste just like butter, please let me know.

So pie is a VERY VERY bad thing on this diet, but I am a firm believer that everything in moderation. If you deprive your self of it, then you will just crash and binge. Best to have a little of something.

Today really wasn't a good food day for me. I was just craving bad things. I also broke down and had a couple of cookies. :(

I did do a very good dead. I went to the gym and signed up. Now i have no excuses come Monday. I lost a ton of weight last time I used the gym, so GYM here I Come!!!!

Day 3 of 17 day diet

So I woke up so excited, because I decided that today was the day that I was going to eat my eggs.

Breakfast- 2 over easy eggs, and 1 container of strawberry yogart.
Green tea pill, water weight pill

Lunch- single serve green giant brocholli and cheese cups. Cheese isn't allowed, but it was 40 calories total and very little cheese sauce. Very tasty, and hot. I like something hot for lunch. I also ate 1/2 an apple, and 6 slices of thin sliced turkey breast. Fish oil pill, and probiotic.

Snack- At 3:30, I was just starving. I must burn a lot of calories at preschool. lol Fiber One has these peanut butter fiber bars. It was either that or eat a peanut butter cup. I was so craving peanut butter. My absolute favorite thing to eat. Half glass of milk, probiotic pill and that bar. That bar had some carbs, but it was filling, and tasty so good.

Supper- Green giant chicken stir fry. A nice medly of vegtables. I just added the chicken. Both Ralph and I ate the entire bag. and were still hungry. We both had a glass of milk as well.

Snack- chocolate pudding cup. Better than the huge bowl of icecream or slice of pie we usually eat at bed time. Baby steps remember.

I was really really craving bad bad things last night. I chewed many many pieces of gum and guzzled even more water. I am happy to report that I am drinking my 8 8oz glasses of water plus some. Funny how when you start drinking that much water, you body feels so much better, and actually makes you crave even more. too funny

We will just have to see what tomorrow will bring

Promise message- Dream big.. Dreams do come true. :)

Day 2 of 17 day diet

Well I am still alive, and not starving today.. lol I probably shouldn't have stepped on the scale, but is said 201 so I am guessing I drank enough water yesterday to get rid of a few lbs.. lol

This morning for breakfast I had my bowl of corn chex with 1%milk. Another step up because I was a full blown 2% drinker. Remember cerial isn't allowed, but I am not ready for EGGS, EGGS, EGGS, and yogart. Really only options for breakfast.

I had my green tea pill, and also took a water pill. I figured with all of this water I am drinking, why not help shed some of the water weight a bit faster.

I took my giant fish oil/flax seed oil suppliment around 11:00 and this must have filled my stomach up to the max because I was full until 2:00 when I had a half of a cup of blue berries.

Around 4:00 I started having a terrible need for sugar. I couldn't even fathom the thought of vegtables. I just wasn't feeling it at all. I know, I know, I need to get a better mind set, but after yesterday being on vegtable over load, I wasn't doing it. I just had yet another bowl of cereal as a quick lunch. I made sure to have my probiotic pill as well. The cereal with truvia was just what I needed.

For supper i think I am going to warm up some of last nights chicken and vegtables.

In last night's post I totally forgot to mention the most important part. Dr. Mike wants us to start out with 17 min a day exercise until we are ready to jump into more. I painted the entire stair well to the basement so I went up and down the stairs over 100 times, not to mention used my arms time and time again painting. I think that counts as exercise doesn't it.. lol

Really I am on day two and off to a good start I think. No I am not supposed to be eating cereal, but geesh.. I will work toward the eggs and yogart for breakfast. I did find out that the milk is ok to drink as long as it is only 2 1/2 servings, and it has probiotics. I just take the suppliments.

Painted again all day today, so that will have to be my exercise. I need to get a routine going before I head back to the gym. That tail bone that I broke is healing up, so hopefully soon.

17 day diet day 1

Today I start the 17 day diet that was devloped by Dr. Mike Moreno. The diet itself has been featured on Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz. Both of them are stongly promoting it, and the success stories have sounded positive, so it is worth a try.

After losing 140lbs over a course of 5 years, I have come along way from my 310 lb body. Sadely this past year has been a year from hell for me. Having gone through a very sad divorce, and many many other set backs in my life, food just kind of crept its way back into my life. It really got to the point where I was binging terribly and then purging to get back to my target weight.

I am currently 30lbs heavier than I was a year ago, and I want to get back to my 170lb body. Why is it so important? I have $10,000 dollars invested into this body. Remember my whole body lift surgery etc. The doctor warmed that I could eat my way back to where I was, and now I am starting to see that the weight is comming on and streching my plastic surgeon's work. I have fixed myself up mentallly following my divorce, so now it is time to fix myself physically. :)

So today at 205lbs, I start a new. Goal weight 170-175

1st 17 day cycle consists of mostly lean protein- no red meat, vegtables, yogart, low sugar fruits and green tea. Absolutely no starchy foods like potatoes, legumes, rice, corn, or oatmeal are allowed. It doesn't say no bread, but I am guessing that must be a given because there is no bread whatsoever in the meal planning section. Eggs are really pushed in this cycle.

Cycle one: Meal planning made easy-
Eat as much of specific protiens and cleansing vegatbles as you would like.
You may suppliment any of these foods with 2 low sugar fruits daily, 2 servings of probiotic foods such as yogart or acidophilis milk.

The book states, you do not have to count anything escept your 2 fruit servings and 2 probiotic servings, and your fat servings.

Dr. Mike says this is kind of a cleansing cycle, so water water water is pushed. 8 full glasses. I don't think I have peeed this much in one day in my whole entire life. lol

So one of the things that Dr. Mike really pushes is Green Tea. If you want to get his book it will be list the reasons etc, but I can tell you right now that I hate tea. It is the absolule only food in the whole entire world that I dislike the taste of completely. I went to my RX and purchased some Greent Tea pills and wow do I have energy. I wish I had know about green tea 15 years ago. I am pretty sure the kids at preschool today thought I was on speed. lol

Anyhow, so I got my Green Tea suppliment and also a fish oil, flax seed oil suppliment as well. He really insists we get our needed good oils. One other suppliment that I bought was a probiotic pill. Probiotics are said to help the efficiency of digestion so instead of eating a bunch of activia yogart which can get expensive, simply go by the suppliment and sprinkle it into regular yogart and away you go. Cheap too. :)

Ok so day 1
Milk and cereal etc. are forbidden on this diet, cycle one anyhow, but for day 1 I was scared setting out to preschool to teach 24 very active children, not knowing if yogart would be enough to keep me fueled while teaching. So I had a bowl of corn chex, a banana, and milk of course. BABY STEPS RIGHT? That is my thought anyhow. NOTE TO SELF. Bananas are not considered good fruits, so I am in the bad even more.

So lunch I had mixed greens and some turkey with a couple of tsp of FAT FREE Italian dressing. The hard boiled egg added extra protein. I crumbled a few pieces of brocholli and cauliflower on as well. NO CHEESE!!! I really missed that.

OH YA, I drank a ton of water as well.

So here is the deal. it is 5:00 and I am starving, but that is simply because I didn't eat my 2 servings of fruit, nor did I bring meat or protein along to snack on while at preschool. Cycle one says you can eat unlimited meats, within reason of course, and unlimited vegtables. Now I know what my hunger scale is going to be like, so now I can plan on snacks, and fuel to keep me going.

For supper I grilled a large chicken breast on my stove top grill and then threw it in the oven to finish cooking. I purchased a Healthy Colors Green Giant Market Blend with sliced carrots, zuchini, roma tomotoes, and yellow peppers tossed in an extra virgin olive oil sauce. One of those Valley Fresh steamers in a bag. SO GOOD!!!!! I highly recommend this.. Man I am stuffed.

Now in the book it says that I can have a half of a cup of acodophilius milk, but to be honest, I have no idea what that even is. I am going to have to google it. I had a half of a glass of regular 1% milk, so I hope that was ok. lol

Milk will be my hardest thing to give up. I drink milk really as a "drug" of choice. It is my comfort and giving it up is going to take some time. I can not promise that you will see me milk free, but 1-2 glasses is like 1/10th of what I drink so right there I feel that i am doing good.

It says that any of the fruit choices need to be eaten before 2:00 as they are carbs and it is important to never eat carbs late in the evening because we are less lickely to be active in the evening, so it just turns to fat. Wow, I think that was a run on. lol So NOTE- No fruit past 2:00....

I have been eating (1) Dove Chocolate every day for years, so that will have to be my "treat" although there really are no treats allowed.. lol

Dove Promise Message: Believe in the unblievable and it may come true..

See you tomorrow on DAY 2 of cycle 1
